Bryony Rusbridge
Racing Office Manager
When did you start at Tweenhills?
I was personal assistant to Ger Lyons for 5 seasons before joining the team here in January 2012. I was at Ger's when Lightening Pearl won the Cheveley Park Stakes, which was Sheikh Fahad's first Gr.1 winner - I actually drove her to the races when she made her debut.
What does your job entail?
I am the first point of contact for all QR enquiries. I ensure that Sheikh Fahad and David Redvers are kept updated on progress of horses, entries and jockey bookings via our web App.
Favourite Qatar Racing horse ever?
I have two! Lightening Pearl is naturally one of them, so it's great to be reunited with her at Tweenhills and watch her 2-year-old Rakurai make her debut recently. But to me Lightning Spear is the perfect thoroughbred: beautifully made, tough, sound and with oodles of class. I can't wait to see his winning traits passed onto his runners in three years' time.
Finally, a horse to watch for the rest of 2020?
Andrew Balding trains a chestnut colt for Qatar Racing called Nobel who we think plenty of; my husband Tim broke him in and we've always thought he could be smart, as he should be given he cost 825,000gns!
