Quality homebred 2yos going into training

With the current crop of yearlings about to turn two, we felt it was the perfect time to discuss some of the Qatar Racing homebreds, born and raised at Tweenhills, which are about to go into training. We feel they are the best bunch we’ve ever had so cannot wait to see them on the racetrack…

We are naturally very excited to see the first foal out of our St Leger and QIPCO British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes heroine Simple Verse go into training. The bay colt, by Frankel, is currently being broken in down the road from Tweenhills by experienced pre-trainer Tim Rusbridge, who also started Roaring Lion and Kameko on the road to stardom.

After around 6 weeks with Tim, the colt will go to John Gosden in Newmarket. Also following the same route to Clarehaven Stables are a chesnut Frankel filly out of Gr.1 winner Molly Malone and a chesnut colt by Dubawi out of Gr.1 placed Stakes winner Wekeela.

Also in Newmarket, a grey Dark Angel filly out of Gr.3 winner La Rioja will join William Haggas and a dark bay colt by Dabirsim out of Gr.2 winner Rich Legacy is to join Michael Bell.

Kameko’s trainer Andrew Balding will receive a handful of youngsters, including a bay colt by Frankel out of dual Gr.3 winner Kiyoshi and a bay filly by Churchill out of another dual Stakes winner in Wind Fire.

Amongst a high-quality bunch of juvenile fillies heading to Ralph Beckett in Hampshire is the bay Galileo filly out of our late dual Gr.1 winner Just The Judge. The filly was raised by a foster mare and it will be poignant when she reaches the racecourse.

Other homebreds to put in your notebooks are a bay Dark Angel colt (bred in partnership with Newsells Park Stud) out of dual Gr.3 winner Purr Along going to Mark Johnston, and a dark bay filly by the late Japanese sensation Deep Impact out of Sheikh Fahad's first Gr.1 winner Lightening Pearl who will go to Johnny Murtagh in Ireland.
