Star pinhook shines at Arqana for Tweenhills team

The sale by Tweenhills of a Starman filly at the Arqana August Yearling Sale represented a great success for a couple of members of the Tweenhills team.

The filly out of Estonia had been bought as a foal by Hannah Wall under Redwall Bloodstock and Sebastian Thompson, a stud hand at Tweenhills who has not long since finished his studies.

The half-sister to Listed winner Kimngrace had been picked up for 37,000gns at the Tattersalls December Foal Sale and, after being prepared for sale this summer by the excellent staff at Tweenhills, she was sold for around six times her purchase price in France.

It weas great to see all the hard work from our team rewarded at the Arqana August Sale in Deauville, where Tweenhills consigned 3 high-quality lots under the guidance of our Yearling Manager Scott Marshall.

Mark McStay, acting on behalf of Avenue Bloodstock / Parklands Thoroughbreds / Medallion Racing signed for the filly by Starman, who has enjoyed a good start with his first 2yos.

Hannah said: "‘Delighted to get the sales season off to a flyer for Redwall Bloodstock, selling this lovely filly for €250,000. She was a gorgeous foal and although we try to avoid pinhooking foals by sires with their first 2yo’s to run, we made an exception last year as we had all been so impressed by the Starman yearlings. Thankfully this time the gamble paid off! She was owned in partnership with Sebastian Thompson who had also liked her as a foal, so I am pleased that he has also had a nice touch. The team at Tweenhills did a fab job with her and we all look forward to following her progress.’

We cannot wait to follow the filly as she enters training and reaches the racecourse. Best of luck to her new owners!
