Another winner to Watch out for

Second season sire Harbour Watch knotched up another winner yesterday, when Qatar Racing's Act of Valour got off the mark at the third attempt in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Roscommon.

Sent off favourite on the back of his close third at Navan on his return to the track this year as a three-year-old, Act of Valour raced handily despite still showing a bit of greenness before sprinting clear in the closing stages to win by an impressive 5 lengths.

Trainer Michael O'Callaghan, said: "Act Of Valour looks after himself a bit. He's a genuine horse but he's still a big baby. He'll come forward from that again. He's a big striding horse and I think he'll go on softer ground."

Bred by Stratford Place Stud and Andy McDonald, Act of Valour is now the fourth winner out of the US-bred mare B Berry Brandy after Cricklewood Green, Hy Point Player and Hy Danger. She also has a yearling colt by Charm Spirit and she visited Harbour Watch again last year.
