Brotherly Love
Brotherly Love returns with stunning win
Brotherly Love who, like his half-brother Heart of Honor was born, raised and grazed and has gone onto Stakes success at Meydan, reappeared with a sparkling handicap win at the track on Friday.
Zoustar’s 3yo son Brotherly Love made his first start since March – having been gelded – a winning one when coming from rear to win the Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashed Al Maktoum Cup Handicap. Off a mark of 99, he came with a powerful late surge to win by 5 lengths.
Brotherly Love clearly relishes the dirt of Meydan, as does his year-older brother Heart of Honor who was 3rd in the Gr.1 Al Maktoum Challenge Presented by Longines last January.
Both geldings are Listed winners at Meydan, Brotherly Love having taken the Dubai Road To The Kentucky Derby at the track last February.
Brotherly Love and Heart of Honour are trained by Jamie Osborne for James Bryce’s Just Jim Limited (or Jim And Claire Limited as Heart of Honor has raced for until now). With Saffie Osborne currently in Hong Kong, Daniel Tudhope did the steering on Brotherly Love on Friday.
David Redvers bought their dam, Chilean champion Ruby Love, for $90,000 at the 2021 Keeneland November Sale and both her runners were born, nurtured and educated at Tweenhills.
Heart of Honor was sold by Tweenhills for 35,000gns as a foal and Brotherly Love was sold by Tweenhills (to Osborne) for 40,000gns as a yearling. Ruby Love’s Havana Grey filly sold by Tweenhills for 80,000gns as a foal but unfortunately the mare has passed away.
