Dubai World Cup fancy was born at Tweenhills

North America, who was bred by Qatar Bloodstock Ltd and born at Tweenhills, is currently vying for favouritism in the Gr.1 Dubai World Cup at Meydan on Saturday.

North America spent the first nine months of his life at Tweenhills before being sold to John Ferguson for 100,000gns at the Tattersalls December Foals Sale.

We have enjoyed tracking North America’s progress and now, as a 7-year-old gelding, he’s a 4/1 shot for the $12m Dubai World Cup over a mile and a quarter on dirt. Only last year’s 6-length winner Thunder Snow is ahead of North America in the betting.

The Satish Seemar-trained North America has won Round 1 and Round 2 of the Maktoum Challenge on both his starts this year, most recently beating New Trails who he’ll meet again on Saturday.

North America is a front runner and will hopefully be hard to pass once more.
