Between Hills as a yearling

03 Jun 2019

First-season sire Hot Streak off the mark

Tweenhills' first-season sire Hot Streak had his first winner on Sunday when Between Hills won a median auction maiden over six furlongs at Listowel.

Between Hills had been a big eye-catcher when third at Navan on her debut in April and she improved to beat Erklking by a neck on soft ground, getting up late under Shane Foley for trainer Jessica Harrington and owners P. Cooper, R. Jones Jr, S. P.-Jones and J. Harrington.

Between Hills did well to win too as she stumbled slightly and her lost place at halfway. She showed a fantastic attitude in the finish and will do even better as she gains in experience.

Between Hills cost her owners €88,000 as a yearling at the Goffs Orby Sale. She was bred by Mrs Brid Cosgrove out of Listed-placed Acclamation mare Breedj. Between Hills is Breedj's fourth foal and a half-sister to winner up to seven furlongs Cuppacoffee (also a 2-year-old winner) and five-furlong winner Miss Power.
