Sir Les Patterson as a young horse at Tweenhills
Four Tweenhills-bred winners in four days
Sir Les Patterson brought up the four-timer for Tweenhills-bred horses when romping home off a mark off 99 in a 6f handicap at Dundalk on Friday. He looks a sprinter going places fast.
After wins for Oscar Nominee on Tuesday, Blue Run on Wednesday and Grande Baigneuse on Thursday, it was Sir Les Patterson who stepped forward on Friday with a smooth win off top weight in a competitive handicap at Dundalk. All were born, raised and grazed at Tweenhills.
Sir Les Patterson is by former Tweenhills stallion Zoustar out of Evil Spell, who was bought by David Redvers at the 2016 Tattersalls December Mare Sale. A dual Listed winner herself, Evil Spell is also the dam of Stakes-placed sprinter Harmony Rose.
Sir Les Patterson won three times for his original connections – which included Tweenhills’ own David Redvers and Hannah Wall – before being sold for 155,000gns at last year’s July Sale.
All credit to his new connections of trainer Stephen Thorne and owner Shamrock Thoroughbreds as he’s won his last 2 starts at Dundalk, running to career-high ratings in the process.
With Sir Les Patterson looking every inch a Stakes horse on the all-weather, maybe the Gr.3 Chipchase Stakes at Newcastle in June could be a target.
