Gr.1-winning Zoustar filly sells for 2.2m guineas
Zoustar’s champion 2yo sprinter filly Lezoo lit up the sales ring at the Tattersalls December Mare Sale when making 2.2m guineas. Consigned by Ralph Beckett’s Kimpton Down Stables, she was bought by Emmanuel de Seroux's Narvick International.
Lezoo was the first Northern Hemisphere Gr.1 winner for Tweenhills’ Australian sire sensation Zoustar when she won the Gr.1 Cheveley Park Stakes as a 2yo in 2022. She had also won the Gr.3 Princess Margaret Stakes, and added to her tally as a 3yo in the Listed Hopeful Stakes.
Lezoo was bred by Chasemore Farm from the Red Clubs mare Roger Sez, a Listed-winning 2yo herself. Roger Sez is also the dam of this year’s Gr.3-placed 2yo Navassa Island.
Lezoo changed hands as a yearling and again as a breezer, when consigned by Tally-Ho Stud and bought for €110,000 by Atlas Bloodstock.
Ralph Beckett is also responsible for more of Zoustar’s European Stakes winners in this season’s Gr.3 Sirenian Stakes winner and Gr.1-placed Starlust and unbeaten 2yo Listed winner Zoum Zoum.
