Jordan Gadsby celebrates his victory
Great Gadsby wins Cheltenham competition
Jordan Gadsby hasn’t been at Tweenhills long but he showed us all how it’s done by claiming the Cheltenham Festival tipping competition after ending the four-day meeting with a big profit.
South African Jordan was languishing near the foot of the table after the first three days but found 50/1 Triumph Hurdle winner Apolon de Charnie on Gold Cup Friday. Jordan ended the meeting with a profit of £25.88 to a £1 level stake. He beat 16 of his colleagues and collected the cash prize – well done Jordan!
Filling the runner-up spot was the ante-post favourite, our racing analyst Adam Brookes. After tipping away steadily throughout the week, Adam had 20/1 Albert Bartlett winner Johnny’s Jury and ended the four days with a profit of £18.06.
Hubie Redvers led the pack for a long way after winners like Johnnywho (18/1), King Rasko Grey (11/1) and Heart Wood (9/2). He sended the meeting with a profit of £14.88 and was unlucky to only claim the prize for third place.
Alicia Plaistow, Karen Holmes and Dayna Walsh did their bit for the girls by also finishing in profit. We won’t tell you who finished tailed off to avoid David Redvers’ blushes.
