Harbour Watch creating a storm worldwide

Progeny by Harbour Watch were creating quite a storm all over the world at the weekend.

On Sunday in South Africa, Trojan Harbour won a two-year-old maiden juvenile plate at Greyville in South Africa. Trained by Gareth van Zyl for owner Mr B Burnard, Trojan Harbour dashed clear as favourite to win the 1000 metre scamper by two lengths.

Trojan Harbour is the first winner for Salma, an Encosta de Lago half-sister to Big Time from the family of Emirates Park's Group 1 winner and sire Al Maher. This is the Dancing Show family that has bred champion sire Redoute's Choice and numerous Group 1 winners including this year's Golden Slipper sire Manhattan Rain.

The colt is from the first crop of Australian foals for Harbour Watch, who shuttled to Emirates Park for two seasons. He was purchased for $50,000 Magic Millions by World Wide Bloodstock from the Emirates Park draft.

Closer to home in Italy, the Harbour Watch two-year-old Ardeatina won the 1200m Pr Pretore in Rome for trainer and owner Mario Giorgi. The filly is out of May West (Act One), a daughter of Mill On The Floss who was second in the Gr.2 Ribblesdale, Gr.3 Lancaster Oaks and Gr.3 Princess Royal Stakes, and is the dam of Stakes winners or performers Bosham Mill, Milly Ha Ha, Hatta's Mill and Yeltsin.

On Saturday 6th May, Queen of Time (pictured) got off the mark in landing the Betfred Mobile Median Auction Maiden Stakes over 7f at Goodwood for trainer Henry Candy. Despite having the blindfold taken off slightly late so dwelling a bit at the start, she travelled well and found plenty to win with a bit in hand on her three-year-old debut.

Bred by Shortgrove Manor Stud, Queen of Time could well develop into a black-type filly this year. She is a half-sister to numerous winners, including the useful pair Bounce and Star Asset, now named Golden Sun and trained in Hong Kong with current prize money earnings of over £100,000.
