Hot Streak and Charm Spirit colts in Listed race

Hot Streak colt Illusionist and Charm Spirit colt Air Force Jet feature among 12 entries for the Listed Tipperary Stakes over five furlongs at Tipperary on Thursday.

Illusionist (pictured as a yearling) built on his easy win at Bath when a close fifth of 21 to Southern Hills in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot, shaping even better than the bare result too as he received a significant bump over 1f out.

Illusionist is improving with racing - and don't forget his sire Hot Streak didn't make his own 2-year-old debut until the end of July - so should hold every chance of gaining black type in Ireland. He is trained by Archie Watson in Lambourn.

Already in Ireland, with Joseph O'Brien, is Air Force Jet who actually beat the aforementioned Southern Hills when winning his maiden but didn't enjoy the rain-softened ground in the Gr.2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot. This colt is a Qatar Racing homebred born at Tweenhills, out of dual Listed-winning sprinter Wind Fire, and he'll be a threat to all if bouncing back.

Another of Hot Streak's winning progeny, Between Hills, was declared for the Gr.2 Airlie Stud Stakes at the Curragh on Friday but was a non-runner. Connections clearly hold her in high regard.
