Impressive 2yo debut winner for Havana Gold

Not to be outdone by his neighbour at Tweenhills, Lightning Spear, siring a 2yo debut winner at Chepstow on Tuesday, Havana Gold produced one of his own when Streets of Gold streaked four lengths clear of his rivals in the 6f maiden there.

Just like Lightning Spear colt Greased Lightning who had won just over an hour earlier, Streets of Gold was ridden by Charlie Bishop for Eve Johnson Houghton.

After showing initial greenness, Streets of Gold put the race to bed in the style of a smart prospect. Favourite No Saint was five and a half lengths back in third. It will be very interesting to see where Streets of Gold runs next.

Streets of Gold was bred by Vimal & Gillian Khosla who bought the mare Truly Honoured in foal to Havana Gold for 170,000gns from Tweenhills at the 2019 Tattersalls December Mare Sale.

Havana Gold is also the sire of this year’s Beverley Two Year Old Trophy winner Chateau, who was also fourth in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot.
