Kaleidoscope catches eye on winning debut

Qatar Racing homebred 2yo filly Kaleidoscope made a deeply impressive winning debut over 1m at Lingfield on December 6 and looks destined for much better things.

Kaleidoscope is by Kingman out of Sheikh Fahad’s first Gr.1 winner Lightening Pearl – winner of the 2011 Cheveley Park Stakes – and looked potentially out of the top drawer as she hammered her 9 rivals on the polytrack at Lingfield.

In the hands of Oisin Murphy, Kaleidoscope broke very sharply from the widest stall and soon grabbed a prominent position. Once asked to quicken in the home straight, she put lengths between herself and the rest. She hit the line with 3 lengths to spare over experienced stablemate Sea Ice, with the rest strung out behind.

Kaleidoscope is trained by John and Thady Gosden, with the former having trained her sire Kingman.

Kaleidscope has been handed a Timeform Rating of 87P and her future looks very bright given her half-sister Lightening Quick improved 10 lb to win a Gr.3 on 3yo return, Lightening Quick’s full brother Lightening Fast won off 91 as a 3yo, and another sibling Rakurai returned from an absence to prove an improved performer at 3.

Kaleidoscope was raised and grazed at Tweenhills and we cannot wait to see what she does in the future.
