King High winning the Listed Silver Tankard Stakes

19 Oct 2026

King High another Stakes winner for Bella Nouf

When David Redvers helped David Howden buy his first mare at Tattersalls in 2018, the pair struck gold with Bella Nouf. She was carrying a filly by Frankel who sold for 350,000gns and became 2yo Gr.3 winner Majestic Glory. Next came Howden’s own Royal Ascot Gr.2 winner Running Lion, and King High gave the mare a Stakes hat-trick when winning the Listed Silver Tankard Stakes at Pontefract today.

King High, by Kingman, was sold by Tweenhills for 200,000gns top Yeomanstown Stud as a Tattersalls foal and the colt resold for 320,000gns to Alex Elliott on behalf of owner Valmont.

Sent to Owen Burrows, King High won his second start and then finished an improved close 3rd in the famous Haynes, Hanson & Clark conditions race for 2yos.

He lined up as a 5/1 shot for the Listed Silver Tankard Stakes in the hands of Cieren Fallon and produced a strong move on the outside of the field around the home turn. King High maintained his momentum to the line and scored by 2 lengths from impressive debut winner Tyrrhenian Thunder.

King High became the 3rd runner out of Bella Nouf to be rated Timeform 100+. Another of the mare's runners, 3yo Runman, is currently Timeform 99 and entered in the upcoming Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sale.

The win proved King High goes on any ground, and he could be a Derby prospect for 2027. Congratulations to all those connected with the horse, including his breeders The Bella Nouf Partnership.
