Outstanding young sire King Of Change to stand in Britain at Tweenhills
King Of Change, described as ‘the best value stallion currently standing in Europe’ is moving to Great Britain and will stand at Tweenhills in Gloucestershire from 2026, alongside fellow Group 1 winners Kameko and Lightning Spear.
The Group 1 winning son of Farhh has made a remarkable start to his stallion career and in 2025 was second only to Dubawi for Stakes winners to runners among sires standing in Europe. King Of Change’s strike rate for producing Stakes winners to runners stands at 13.3%, ahead of Night Of Thunder (11.2), Frankel (7.7) and the late Wootton Bassett (8.1), and is over double that of any other third-crop stallion.
The 10-year-old, who as well as winning the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot was also runner-up in the 2000 Guineas, and never finished outside of the first two, was previously standing at Starfield Stud in Ireland but has been purchased by Tweenhills and partners. He will stand at the Gloucestershire farm for the 2026 breeding season.
David Redvers, Managing Director of Tweenhills, said: “I am thrilled to have been able to acquire a proven stallion of the clear and obvious ability of King Of Change. This is a major coup for Tweenhills and great news for the British breeding industry. We are not alone in considering him to be one of the best value stallions currently standing in Europe and alongside Kameko we now stand two of the best milers, proven at stud, in the UK.
“From very limited opportunities King Of Change has delivered outstanding results, and it is mouthwatering to think what he could achieve going forward with more quality and quantity. It goes without saying that we will be supporting King Of Change with our broodmare band and our partners in the stallion will do likewise.
“At the beginning of our thirtieth anniversary as a stallion farm, King Of Change’s arrival heralds an exciting new chapter for Tweenhills.”
King Of Change signed off his racing career with a convincing victory on QIPCO British Champions Day in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, beating 15 rivals including eight Group 1 winners.
Despite limited opportunities, King Of Change has quickly established himself as sire of note, producing the Stakes winner and exciting three-year-old for 2026, Shayem and multiple Stakes scorer, Lady With The Lamp.
King Of Change’s other Stakes winners are Miss of Change and Onemoredance, the latter purchased by David Redvers Bloodstock for 240,000gns at the recent Tattersalls December Mare Sale and set to continue her racing career in the US for Qatar Racing.
King Of Change has had winners in the UK, Ireland, France, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Italy and Czechia, from 5f to 12.5f on the Flat. His progeny have won Stakes races over 5f, 6f, 1m (x2) and 9.5f on ground ranging from good to firm to soft. King Of Change covered his biggest and best quality book of 125 mares in 2024 when standing at Micheál Orlandi's Starfield Stud who commented “King Of Change has achieved exceptional results from his early crops. We are very sorry to see him go but look forward to following his career and will continue to support him. We wish David, his partners and the stallion all the best for the future’
David Redvers added: “Having always been a fan of his sire, Farhh, I have followed King Of Change’s career with interest. None of it is a fluke and the support he has recently received under Micheál Orlandi’s care at Starfield from some of the shrewdest breeders in Ireland is testament to his burgeoning reputation.
“We are excited to welcome him to the farm this weekend and look forward to settling him in and showing him to clients. His new fee for 2026 will be announced on Monday and we expect him to fill very fast.”
