Son of Kameko returns with Stakes second

Kameko’s 3yo son Mirik got his first black type when 2nd in the Listed Prix Francois Mathet over 2100m at Saint-Cloud on Sunday, setting up what will surely be another good season for the dual winner.

Mirik had won two of his four starts as a 2yo for Francis-Henri Graffard and the Aga Khan Studs in 2025, including a defeat of subsequent German Gr.3 winner Lommi.

Mirik stepped up to 10.5f on heavy ground in the Listed Prix Francois Mathet and found plenty to come from the rear, beaten only by Saint Martin who had already won under similar conditions this year.

Behind Mirik were Martagny, who had won the final 2 of his 3 starts as a juvenile, and Waybreaker, who had won a Gr.3 at the track last October. The form looks rock-solid.

Mirik looks set to become another Stakes winner for Kameko this year and holds an entry in the Gr.1 Grand Prix de Paris in July.

Kameko has another big bunch of 2yos in training this year. Call our nominations team now to book your mare - 01452 700 177
