Tweenhills-bred French Oaks entry impressive on debut

A day after Blue Run won impressively over hurdles, another horse born, raised and grazed at Tweenhills scored a smooth success, this time 3yo debutante Grande Baigneuse in a Flat race at Chantilly.

The daughter of Kingman and Honorina was born at Tweenhills and bred by The Honorina Partnership. She was sold at the 2023 December Foal Sale to Jamie Railton for 52,000gns and re-offered by him at the Tattersalls October Book 2 Yearling Sale, where she made 78,000gns.

Secured by Roderic Kavanagh’s Glending Stables, she was then sold again by the Kavanagh family’s Kildaragh Stud at the 2025 Arqana Breeze-Up Sale, where was bought for €140,000 by SAS Yellow Agency.

Grand Baigneuse made her debut for owner Gousserie Racing and trainer Francis-Henri Graffard in a 14-runner newcomers’ race for fillies over 1900m on the all-weather at Chantilly on Thursday and looked a smart prospect.

Drawn widest, she raced in midfield under Christophe Soumillon before the jockey pushed the button 400m out. The response was very impressive, under hands and heels, mowing down leader Aurora Beau. The second, third and fourth are by Siyouni, Camelot and Sea The Stars so every chance it was a warm contest.

Grand Baigneuse holds an entry in the Gr.1 Prix de Diane and we cannot wait to follow her progress.
