Watch out for these Harbour runners

With Harbour Watch currently leading the way among second crop sires in Europe based on prize money, we take a look at three of his progeny who could progress really well this season.

At Tweenhills we're keeping a particularly close eye on Batten The Hatches (ex Our Little Secret) as, not only is he by Harbour Watch but he's a half-brother to Pearl Secret, who won the Gr. 2 Temple Stakes for Qatar Racing Limited in 2015. Batten The Hatches also shares his trainer--David Barron--with Pearl Secret, and just like his illustrious sibling he made a winning debut, on the Tapeta at Newcastle in mid-February. Batten The Hatches beat an odds-on shot by two lengths that day, despite not looking the finished article, and his handicap debut off a mark of 80 is eagerly anticipated.

Queen of Time (ex Black Belt Shopper) got better with each of her three starts at two, staying on strongly when second to the exciting Cashla Bay at Newmarket on her final one, and could well develop into a black-type filly this year. Trained by Henry Candy, Queen of Time is a half-sister to numerous winners, including the useful pair Bounce and Star Asset, and can also now go into handicaps from a mark of 80.

Pictured is What's The Story (ex Spring Fashion), who has been a great advert for the consistency of Harbour Watch's progeny already, runner-up on all three of his outings last year (including behind a subsequent Listed winner) before making a winning return at Musselburgh, and he remains open to plenty of improvement. This Keith Dalgleish-trained colt showed a really good attitude to get the better of a protracted battled with the runner-up at the Scottish track and his new BHA mark of 84 won't prevent him from winning again.
