Winner #9 for Hot Streak

Qaaddim gave Hot Streak his ninth individual winner from his first crop when getting off the mark at Lingfield on Thursday.

Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum's strong and attractive 2-year-old colt had finished placed in nurseries on his previous two starts and came with a fast finish to get up in the Shard Solutions And Origin Nursery Handicap at the Surrey track.

In the hands of Andrea Atzeni, Qaaddim clearly relished the step up to a mile and this should be the start of even better things over the trip. For all his sire was a sprinter, it's no great surprise Qaaddim has proven best over a mile as a juvenile as he's a half-brother to nine-furlong winner Notturno Ligure.

Qaaddim is trained by Roger Varian in Newmarket, where the colt had been one of the star lots at the Tattersalls Book 2 Yearling Sales last October when purchased by Shadwell Estate Company.

Qaaddim was bred by Peter Molony of Rathmore Stud out of Elusive City mare Never In. Congratulations to all connections.
