Stud Hand

Jordan Gadsby

Jordan created a big splash in our tipping competitions for the big meetings, winning the 2026 Cheltenham edition from our racing analyst, Adam Brookes. Here we find out more about our promising young talent…

Tell us about your background…

I’m 25 years old and grew up in South Africa. My parents still live there, my dad was a former jockey and now trains racehorses, but my sister works for Widden Stud in Australia.

Once I’d finished my Law degree in South Africa, I went to work at Widden too, from 2023-2025. That’s how I connected with Tweenhills, and I started here in February this year.

Best parts of the job…

Naturally, working with high-quality stock at Tweenhills and Widden has been great, and it has been fascinating to see how things are done differently in different hemispheres.

How do you spend your time away from work?

I ride motorbikes! I probably got on my first motorbike when I was 6 years old; my dad was into them too rather than me just randomly getting on one! I enjoy watching MMA and gambling aswell.

I also love to travel. The best place I’ve been is the coastline of Australia; Queensland is great and Sydney is obviously incredible. I would like to do America next; it would be great to see out there, Kentucky obviously for the horses.

Since coming to the UK, I’ve been to London a few days and been to Bath. I also went to Royal Ascot which was a unique experience in all the gear!

I like watching Rugby, which is easy currently as South Africa are pretty much untouchable.

I’ve not been home for 3 years but am planning a trip this year. Living with Seb Thompson is driving me to want to get out of the house a lot more! (joking, Seb keeps the place very tidy!)

Give us a horse to follow from Tweenhills…

I’m obviously excited to see what stallion King of Change does in the coming years since he joined Tweenhills at the start of the year.

What does the future hold?...

My plan was to work the yearling sales here and see how it goes, but I’m enjoying so have no major plans yet.
