10,000gns Havana Gold colt sells for 210,000gns

Havana Gold’s dual Listed winner Chipotle sold at the 2021 Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sale for 210,000gns to Saudi Arabia’s Najd Stud with Peter and Ross Doyle.

Chipotle been bought back by his vendor for just 4,500gns at the Tattersalls December Foal Sale. Then after being reoffered by Theakston Stud at the Tattersalls Ascot Yearling Sale he changed hands for just 10,000gns when knocked down to trainer Eve Johnson Houghton and Highflyer Bloodstock’s Anthony Bromley.

After winning four of his nine starts for syndicate The Woodway 20, including the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot and Listed Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar, Havana Gold was purchased to continue his career in Saudi Arabia for a whopping 210,000gns.

Chipotle represents a significant result for his yearling purchasers and is another fine advert for his sire Havana Gold; the colt proved better than ever on his ninth 2-year-old start which was also his first over six furlongs.

Talking of Havana Gold juvenile winners over six furlongs, Tippy Toes produced a dominant display in a novice at Chelmsford on Thursday. It was individual 2-year-old winner #27 for Havana Gold in 2021, placing him level with £45,000 sire Showcasing.
