A fantastic week for Havana Gold

Resident Tweenhills sire Havana Gold, has enjoyed a fruitful week with seven winners in seven days including a Stakes winner and Stakes-placed filly.

Badayel kicked off proceedings with a win in the Betsafe Extra Place Race Handicap at Lingfield. The four-year-old was bred by Kildaragh Stud and is out of the Rock Gibraltar mare Raggiante, making him a full brother to fellow winner Laikaparty.

Hariboux then made it back-to-back Stakes successes in the Cinema Stakes at Santa Anita. Bred by Lady Gillian Brunton, the three-year-old who was bought privately to race in America was also an impressive winner of the Listed Pasadena Stakes in February.

There was another Stakes result for Havana Gold when Maccaja finished third in the Listed Prix Finlande at Chantilly. The race was her first at Stakes level and she looks an exciting prospect for connections and breeder Scuderia Giocri.

Elsewhere in France, Two Hearts was an easy three-length winner of the Prix de la Poissonnerie at Dieppe. The three-year-old was bred and raced by James Ortega Bloodstock before being sold at last year’s Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sale.

On Thursday, Havana Gold recorded a quick-fire double at Newbury and Lingfield. The first success came with Involved, who was an impressive three-length winner of the Mansion Bet Handicap at Newbury. Post-race his trainer George Boughey commented "He will have some big targets ahead. He’s a progressive horse who just gets better and better’. Bred by Peter Onslow, Involved is out of the Lomitas mare Trick or Treat, making him a half-brother to Listed winner Medrano.

Forty minutes later, Intrepid Italian recorded a two-length win in the Betway Handicap at Lingfield. The win came on his third start having been bought at the Tattersalls December Foals sales for 35,000gns from breeder Bolton Grange Stud.

On Friday, the Patrick Cummings-trained Ghepardo was an easy winner of the Unibet Casino Bonus Handicap at Kempton. Bred at Tweenhills by David Redvers and Gary Middlebrook, she is out of the Royal Applause mare Clincher.

Mambo Nights finished off a fantastic week for Havana Gold with an impressive win in the Unibet EBF Maiden Stakes at Sandown. The three-year-old colt was bred by Kildaragh Stud and now holds an entry for the Golden Gates Handicap at Royal Ascot.
