Another fast Lightning Spear winner

Lightning Spear produced another sprint winner when Umming N’ Ahing returned to win a 5f maiden at Nottingham on Wednesday.

Umming N’ Ahing had shown plenty of speed in his races last year and got off the mark on just his second start over 5f, showing an excellent attitude in the closing stages.

Bred by Kevin McAuliffe’s Fernham Farm, Umming N’ Ahing is trained by Bill Turner for owner Eric Brook. He was given an excellent ride by apprentice Gina Mangan.

Umming N’ Ahing is by our Gr.1 Sussex Stakes winner Lightning Spear out of Giant’s Causeway mare Life Is Golden. She’s also the dam of a winner by Havana Gold in Goldilocks.

Whilst Lightning Spear didn’t run over shorter than 1m after his winning debut over 7f, it should come as no surprise that he’s sired several sprint winners so far as he’s by the late Pivotal out of 2yo 6f Listed winner Atlantic Destiny. Lighting Spear is also the sire of 3-time winner over 5f Destiny’s Spirit.

There’s still time to book your mare into Lightning Spear this season so please give our Nominations Team a call on 01452 700 177.
