Another Golden Treasure

Havana Gold will have another two-year-old runner at Royal Ascot following Treasuring's impressive win in the Lynn Lodge Stud Irish EBF Maiden at Navan today.

The filly relished the uphill climb to the line and tore the field apart from the 2f to comfortably land this 5f maiden by two and three-quarters of a length for owner Qatar Racing.

Trainer Ger Lyons said: "Treasuring was favourite, so you'll be surprised to hear me saying I'm surprised she won but I just didn't think she was quick enough to win over five. You'll see a couple of scratches on her head, she got down and banged herself around last night. I'm sure if it was 5f anywhere else I probably wouldn't have even ran her but she has come on from her first run. The further she went the better she was. We thought she would win her maiden and that is what she has done so let's see how she comes home from it."

Treasuring became the fifth individual winner for Qatar Bloodstock's Tweenhills Stud-based sire Havana Gold, whose progeny also include the Listed National Stakes winner Havana Grey and impressive Chester winner Headway.

Treasuring could be another runner for Qatar Racing at Royal Ascot, with both the Gr. 2 Queen Mary Stakes and Albany possibilities.

Bred by The Pocock Family, she is out of You Look So Good (Excellent Art) a half/own sister to the German Group 2 winner Electric Beat and Gray Pearl who was placed in the Group 2 Rockfel Stakes. Treasuring was purchased by David Redvers Bloodstock from the Tattersalls December Foal Sale in 2015 for 32,000gns.
