Havana Gold colt sells for £105,000

The colt by Havana Gold out of Stakes performer Golden Spell proved very popular at the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale when changing hands for £105,000.

One of the star lookers on the day, the striking Havana Gold colt was consigned by Baroda Stud and purchased by Oliver St Lawrence.

He is the first foal out of Al Kazeem mare Golden Spell, who was an extremely tough sprinter in 18 starts for Johnny Murtagh in Ireland, winning three times and in the frame in seven Stakes races.

The Havana Gold colt was her first foal and she had a 2021 colt by Zoustar. Golden Spell is now in foal to Kameko.

Havana Gold's stud fee was £15,000 when this colt was conceived and an absolute bargain £7,500 for the 2021 breeding season.

He's already had 21 individual 2-year-old winners this year including Royal Ascot scorer Chipotle who ran in the Gr.1 Nunthorpe Stakes last Friday.
