Homebred gives Havana 2yo winner #21

Battle of The Nile became Havana Gold's 21st 2-year-old winner of the year with a comfortable victory on Tuesday.

After recent wins for Havana Gold juveniles Great Havana and Ana Gold, Qatar Racing's Battle of The Nile added his name to the list with success in the six-furlong Cazoo Nursery at Wolverhampton.

Battle of The Nile had been gelded since his last run in June and returned an improved model, overcoming a tardy start to win by an easy length under Oisin Murphy for young Newmarket trainer James Ferguson. He can win again soon.

Battle of The Nile is out of winning Manduro mare Gertrude Versed, who was also runner-up in the Listed Cheshire Oaks for Ms Rachel Hood and John Gosden. He could stay further in time but has more than enough speed for sprints.

Havana Gold currently sits in a clear fourth in the Leading Sire of 2yos in Europe in 2021 list based on individual winners. He's ahead of Ardad, Caravaggio, No Nay Never, Profitable, Showcasing, Starspangledbanner etc.
