International double for Havana Gold

Tweenhills stallion Havana Gold recorded a cross-channel double on Tuesday when his sons won in France and Britain.

Jilbaab, who won in the UK when trained by Brian Meehan, scooped €10,000 for winning a class 3 handicap over 1300m on the all-weather at Chantilly for trainer Mme Sofie Lanslots.

Jilbaab was given an excellent front-running ride by Aurelian Lemaitre and showed the generous attitude associated with Havana Gold’s progeny in the finish.

At Newcastle, Broken Rifle won the second race of his career in a 10-furlong handicap for trainer Harriet Bethell and jockey Cam Hardie.

He has been ultra-consistent and achieved this much-deserved win in totally contrasting fashion to Jilbaab, still last with two furlongs to run but sweeping through to get up.

Jilbaab is out of a mare by Footstepsinthesand and Broken Rifle is out of a mare by Bertolini.

The leading UK-based sire of two-year-olds in 2021 with 32 individual juvenile winners, Havana Gold represents outstanding value at £12,500 (1st Oct SLF) – call us now on 01452 700 177 to book your mare!
