Lightning Spear colt wins by 4 lengths
Gr.1 Sussex Stakes winner Lightning Spear recorded another first crop 2yo winner on Monday when Inspirited was an impressive winner of the Restricted Maiden Stakes at Brighton.
Inspirited made virtually all before being shaken up 2 furlongs out to win by an impressive 4 1/4 lengths.
The 2yo colt who is trained by Marco Botti for the Keep Kicking Syndicate, was bred by Wellsummers Farm and is out of the winning Danehill Dancer mare Moonlight Rhapsody who has already produced Stakes placed Cubswin.
Lightning Spear has got of to a fantastic start with his first crop of 2yos this year and now has a strike rate of 50% winners to runners.
The Gr.2 Gran Criterium or a tilt at the £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes now looks the aim for the 2yo colt with winning syndicate manager Conor Norris commenting 'He is very professional, eats sleeps and runs so he is the perfect type to attempt to take abroad and pick up some prize money.'
