Seventh individual Stakes winner for Charm Spirit

Fantastic Spirit gave his sire Charm Spirit his seventh individual Stakes winner when taking the Listed Derby du Midi for three-year-olds at Bordeaux-Le Bouscat on Saturday.

Fantastic Spirit had won two of his five starts going into the weekend's race and was 6/4 second favourite to add the Derby du Midi to his CV. He raced in third of the six runners for most of the way before getting the better of a terrific tussle with Again Music.

Fantastic Spirit carries the Ecurie Antonio Caro colours made famous by triple Gr.1 winner Almanzor. Fantastic Spirit is also trained by Jean-Claude Rouget and was ridden by Hugo Journiac.

Fantastic Spirit was bred by Mme Larissa Kneip, Jeremy Bossert and Mme Valerie Haendler out of Fantastic Light mare Fantastic Cuix.

Charm Spirit' other Stakes winners are Aretha, Fascino, Kick On, Lilikoi, Scorpz and Yourtimeisnow.
