Two Havana Gold 2yo breezers realise six figures

Two breeze-up two-year-olds by first-season sire Havana Gold fetched six-figures today at the Goffs UK Breeze Up Sale.

His top lot, Lot 72, realised £135,000 when knocked down to David Redvers. Out of Remarkable Story, this smashing colt is a half-brother to Grendisar, winner of the Gr.3 Coral Winter Derby, from the family of Champion two-year-old filly Necklace, and Gr.1 winners Colorspin, Kayf Tara, Opera House, Zee Zee Top and Izzi Top. Consigned by The Bloodstock Connection he was the fastest breezer at the sale, and proved a great pin-hooking result for Jeremy Brummitt who purchased him for 22,000gns as a yearling.

David Redvers said: "He did the most impressive breeze of the whole day, which was the fastest time. He is a
very strong physical, like his sire, and vibes from the trainers are very good and they all have engines, so I am delighted to get him."

He now goes into training with David Simcock at Trillium Place. (Lot 72 - see him breeze below).

Also by this Tweenhills-based sire, Lot 139, a colt out of Chanter, a half-sister to Gr.1 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner Belmez, and Opera Comique, dam of Gr.1 Arlington Million Stakes winner Debussyconsigned by Lynn Lodge Stud sold to the Hong Kong Jockey Club for £100,000 (Lot 139 - see him breeze below)

Both helped contribute to an impressive average of £60,600 for the five Havana Gold two-year-olds offered and sold at the Goffs UK Breeze Up Sale, an excellent return on his stud fee of £7,000.
