4 winners from 4 runners on the day for Zoustar

Zoustar enjoyed yet another notable day as a stallion on Wednesday when he was responsible for 4 winners - from 4 runners - in Australia.

At Sandown - Lakeside, there were victories for five-year-old mare Part Time Lover and four-year-old gelding Zoushack.

Part Time Lover was successful in a 1400m handicap under Damian Lane for trainers Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra. She has now won three times and is out of a mare by High Chaparral.

The lightly-raced Zoushack also won under Lane, and was also gaining his third career victory. He won a 1200m handicap for trainers Tom Dabernig and Ben Hayes. He is out of a mare by Canny Lad and will be winning again.

Zoustar's other two winner were at Oakbank. Four-year-old mare Recognise broke won a 1400m maiden under Barend Vorster for Tony and Calvin McEvoy who, of course, trained Zoustar's superstar daughter Sunlight. Recognise is out of a mare by General Nediym.

Five-year-old gelding Zoustorm was landing his second career success in a 1400m handicap under Paul Gatt. He's trained by David Tootell Snr and is out of a mare by Bernardini.

None of the other 38 stallions who had winners in Australasia on Wednesday had more than 2 winners.

There were also updates on some of Zoustar's star performers.

Three-year-old Gr.3 winner Ranting is "set for the Gr.1 Oakleigh Plate, he’s a serious horse – the real deal,” according to trainer Troy Corstens.

Dual Gr.2 winner Haut Brion Her will be aimed at Gr.1 races in Sydney and Brisbane says Chris Waller, with The Galaxy (1100m) in late March her likely first assignment.
