A second Gr.1 winner of the week for Zoustar

Zoustar filly Zougotcha provided her sire with a 6th Individual Gr.1 winner with a dominant win in the Gr.1 Flight Stakes at Royal Randwick on Saturday. Zougotcha's Gr.1 success signed off an excellent week for Zoustar, with Lezoo winning the Gr.1 Cheveley Park Stakes just 7 days prior.

Zougotcha powered clear to score by two lengths with Gr.1 Champagne Stakes winner She’s Extreme in second and another Zoustar filly North Star Lass a gallant third. The win means that Zoustar fillies have now won all four legs of the Princess Series with Zougotcha winning three of them and North Star Lass successful in the Gr.2 Furious Stakes.

Platinum Jubilee also made it an across the card Group double for her sire with a win in the Gr.3 Gimcrack Stakes. The 2yo filly showcased a sensational turn of foot to travel from last to first in the home straight, giving trainer Gai Waterhouse a first win in the race.

Zoustar has now sired 33 Stakes winners including 6 Gr.1 winners in 3 continents.
