Another Zoustar makes waves in Hong Kong
Young Champion, formerly known as Sharlouk when trained in Ireland, gave Zoustar another international winner when taking a 7f handicap at Sha Tin on Sunday.
Zoustar gelding Sharlouk had been narrowly beaten in a Naas Listed race for Johnny Murtagh in May 2023 and was then sold privately by the Aga Khan to race in Hong Kong.
Renamed Young Champion, the horse finished second over 6f at Sha Tin in early-February and went one place better over the weekend, both times in the hands of star Australian jockey James McDonald, who rode two other winners on the card.
Young Champion is out of Pivotal mare Sharliyna, a 3yo winner for Dermot Weld and the Aga Khan in 2016.
Young Champion is trained by John Size for the HKJC Racing Club Limited and looks another exciting runner for Zoustar.
