Charm Spirit has winner as French racing returns
As racing returned to France on Monday after an enforced period of inactivity due to Coronavirus, so did the winners for Tweenhills stallion Charm Spirit.
Centaurus had already won a handicap at Marseille Borely in 2019 for Charm Spirit and he added another to his CV at Toulouse this week.
Centaurus showed a great attitude to come from midfield in the 15-runner race over 1600m and win by half a length from Baileys Diable. The winner is trained by Simone Brogi and was ridden by Ioritz Mendizabal.
Owned by Charlene Hermelin, Centaurus was bred Ecurie des Monceaux out of the Hernando mare Crystals Sky. She has already produced Listed winners Cashman and Prince Falcon. Centaurus was good value at €27,000 as a yearling when bought by Paul Nataf.
There was also a Charm Spirit winner in France on Tuesday as Faithfilly Man justified favouritism at Marseille Pont de Vivaux.
