Daughter of Zoustar sells for $2.4 million

Zoustar's dominance at the Australian sales continued on Thursday when his daughter Madam Rouge sold for $2.4million, topping the second day of the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale. The 6yo mare was bought by Widden Stud, the farm where she was bred and who stand her sire Zoustar in the Southern Hemisphere.

A winner at two, she went on to win over $1.4million claiming multiple Group wins including the Gr.2 Tristarc Stakes and was beaten a head when second in the Gr.1 Stradbroke Handicap in 2020.

One of the 16 Stakes horses produced from Zoustar's phenomenal first crop, she was bred on the successful Zoustar/ Al Maher (Danehill) cross, which has also produced Stakes winner Zouzarella.

Zoustar is currently standing his fourth Northern Hemisphere breeding season at Tweenhills where he is heavily oversubscribed once again. His first crop of 2yos have sold for up to 400,000gns at the Breeze-up sales and runners include the RPR 93 rated Alexis Zorba and RPR 83 rated Annie Maher.
