First foal of the season born
The first foal of 2020 has been born at Tweenhills; a handsome colt by Charm Spirit out of Shiba.
Born at 6.30am on Wednesday 8 January, the youngster is reportedly doing well, as is mother. He is the first foal delivered at Tweenhills by our new Foaling Manager Samantha Griesel. Samantha has a wealth of foaling experience having worked at Klawervlei Stud in South Africa, Coolmore Australia and Coolmore Ireland.
Rail Link mare Shiba's only runner so far is Havana Gold gelding Idoapologise who won twice as a two-year-old in 2019.
Charm Spirit was due to return to France this year but has been re-routed back to Tweenhills, where he will stand for £8,500 (Oct 1st SLF). Given he's had two Gr.2 winners among his six Stakes scorers, as well as dozens of other winners, we feel this represents great value.
Here at Tweenhills we are also eagerly awaiting the first foals by Roaring Lion and the first Northern Hemisphere-bred foals by Zoustar, who is also back with us for the upcoming breeding season. We shall keep you updated!
