First yearlings sold by Kameko average £121,454
The first yearlings by Qatar Racing's dual Gr.1 winner Kameko have been creating quite the impression at the sales, with 7 yearlings selling for an average of £121,454 (over 8-times his current stud fee!)
The first European yearling sale of the year, the Arqana August Yearling Sale, saw 4 lots from his first crop of yearlings sell for €310,000, €170,000, €140,000 and €90,000. Topping his yearlings was the Kameko colt out of Roheryn who was consigned by Monceaux Stables and sold to The Hong Kong Jockey Club for €310,000.
The dual Gr.1 winner also had 3 yearlings sell at the Goffs UK Doncaster Premier Yearling Sale this week which were topped by the colt out of Lady McKell who was sold for £95,000 to Richard Hannon/ Peter and Ross Doyle. The classic winning trainer was so taken with the yearlings by Kameko that he purchased a second, a filly out of Stakes winning 2yo Natural, for £62,000. Andrew Balding, who trained Kameko, was the successful purchaser of his final yearling at the sale, a filly out of Bewitchment for £85,000.
Kameko stood the 2023 breeding season at Tweenhills at £15,000 (Oct 1st SLF) which looks outstanding value. If you would like to discuss your mare for his 2024 book, please contact us on +44 (0)1452 700177
