For Sale - Havana Gold's second-crop yearlings
Following a fantastic start with his first crop, among them the 3-time Stakes winner Havana Grey and Royal Ascot runner-up Headway, Havana Gold's second crop of yearlings promise to be popular at the upcoming sales in Europe.
On offer in August 2017
The Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale is the first yearling sale of the year in Britain, and there are eight offspring of Havana Gold due to be offered.
First up will be a colt out of the winning Rock of Gibraltar mare Holy Moly (Lot 77). This is a family that has earnt plenty of black type in North America and France, and the colt is a half-brother to three winners.
Next is a colt out of the Indian Ridge mare Indian Story (Lot 88). Indian Story is a half-sister to the Listed winner Love Roi, who is herself the dam of the Champion Older Horse in Italy in 2014, Verdetto Finale.
The third colt is out of the winning Any Given Saturday mare Ittasal (Lot 94). This is another family containing plenty of black-type performers, including the Irish 1000 Guineas winner Las Meninas.
The stallion's first filly on offer at the sale is a daughter of the Medicean mare Naizak (Lot 188). Naizak is already the dam of three winners, and she's also a half-sister to the Listed winner Warming Trends.
A colt out of the winning Moss Vale mare Orton Park (Lot 201) is a half-brother to the Harbour Watch two-year-old Shawwal, who looks a winner in waiting. Orton Park is a half-sister to the Gr. 3 winner Knot In Wood.
Lot 265 is a colt out of the Footstepsinthesand mare Sand Dancer. This is a high-quality family that contains the Irish 1000 Guineas winner Samitar, as well as other Group-race winners Shaweel and Nijoom Dubai.
Lot 269 is a filly out of the Cape Cross mare Secret Happiness. Secret Happiness is a half-sister to the Stakes performers Guston and Beauly, out of another one in Pickle.
The last of the Havana Gold yearlings at the Premier Sale is Lot 415, a colt out of the six-time winner, including in Listed company, Bounty Box (by Bahamian Bounty). Bounty Box is the dam of one winner from one runner so far.
Also in August, a daughter of Havana Gold is set to sell at the Arqana V.2 Yearling Sale, and three offspring by the stallion are due to be offered at the Silver Yearling Sale at Goffs UK.
