Havana Gold runners all over the world

Havana Gold is making an impression in all four corners of the globe, including with a winner in Japan and Stakes performer in Australia already in 2021.

Six-year-old Saisons d’Or and four-year-old Broken Rifle are 2021 winners in Britain for Havana Gold, the former gaining his fourth career win with a determined front-running return to action at Newcastle.

Havana Gold also had his first winner in Japan this month courtesy of his first runner in the country, Golden Syrup. The three-year-old carries the famous Godolphin colours and was sold as a foal by Tweenhills for 52,000gns – we’ll be keeping a close eye on his progress.

Moving down the globe, Havana Gold’s ex-French Listed winner Barade is now in Australia and was recently third in the Gr.3 Hobart Cup and fourth in the Gr.3 Launceston Cup for OTI Racing. He won his two-year-old maiden at Jagersro in Sweden, won his Stakes race in France and has already won three races Down Under, including at Eagle Farm in 2021.

Another of Havana Gold’s multiple winners, Alkaamel, has finished fifth in a Gr.3 and third off 90 in a handicap on his two starts in Dubai so far in 2021.

Jilbaab – who used to carry the same Shadwell colours as Alkaamel when trained in Britain – was narrowly beaten in France a few days ago, and he’s actually now trained in Belgium by Mme S. Lanslots.

Back on the other side of the world, Havana Gold geldings Kyrus Unicorn (known as Zuenoon when a dual winner in Ireland) and Bella Baby continue their careers in Hong Kong, the latter a dual winner in 2020. Unfortunately, Havana Gold’s smart sons Happy Family (formerly Headway in Britain), Realism (Raid) and Sunny Speed (Crack On Crack On) have all been retired over there.

Don’t forget Havana Gold is also the sire of US Stakes winners Treasuring and Hariboux (in 2020) who began their careers in Ireland and Britain respectively.

Havana Gold represents outstanding value at £7,500 (1st Oct SLF) - having stood at £15,000 in both 2018 and 2019 - especially considering he has 144 two-year-olds to run for him this year, from his best book of mares.
