Heat wins after King of Change cover
Summer Heat, bought by Tweenhills last December and part-owned by David Redvers, got off the mark at Lingfield on Tuesday, her first start after being confirmed in-foal to Tweenhills stallion King of Change.
Summer Heat (aptly-named given the last few days!) had been bought for 55,000gns from Godolphin at the Tattersalls Mare Sale and finished runner-up on her first two starts for new connections at the start of the year, switching from Saeed bin Suroor to James Owen.
Carrying the colours of Emma Palmer – also involved in the ownership of King of Change – and back in the hands of Luke Morris, Summer Heat showed a good attitude to edge out her six rivals in a 7f fillies’ handicap on the turf at Lingfield.
In the three months since her previous run she had returned to Tweenhills to be covered by King of Change and will now come back to the stud as a winner to prepare for motherhood.
