Homebred Kameko colt Wolfpack wins at Thirsk

Wolfpack, by Kameko out of Listed winner Ship of Dreams, looked a 3yo to follow when winning a novice at Thirsk on Wednesday.

Wolfpack showed plenty on his sole 2yo start for Andrew Balding and, after an inauspicious start to his career for James Ferguson in June, was much improved when winning upped to 1m at Thirsk.

The flashy son of Kameko was always handy under Oisin Murphy at the Yorkshire track and piled on the pressure to beat Godolphin filly Gentle Touch by 1¾ lengths.

Wolfpack is out of Lope de Vega mare Ship of Dreams, who carried the Qatar Racing colours to victory in the Listed Navigation Stakes as a 3yo.

Wolfpack was conceived, born, raised and grazed at Tweenhills. Ship of Dreams is also the dam of winner Port Augusta (later know as Cheval Victorious in Hong Kong) and 2yo Kingman colt Go Just Do It, unraced for Joseph O’Brien (who also trained Ship of Dreams).

Ship of Dreams also as a Kameko yearling colt and a cracking Kameko filly foal. Exciting times!
