Impressive Zoustar 2yo winner in Racing League
Zoustar 2yo Zoulu Chief won his second race of the season, both from the front by an easy 4¾ lengths, when scoring in the William Hill Bet In-Running Racing League Race 15 Nursery Handicap over 6f at Windsor on Thursday.
Zoulu Chief had dominated a maiden at Newbury in May and, after running in the Gr.2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot, he proved better than ever when winning at Windsor.
Zoulu Chief could barely have been more impressive in gaining the win of his short career. In the hands of apprentice Gina Mangan, Zoulu Chief bettered his previous form by some margin as he made all off a mark of 80 from previous winners Pink Satin and Chinese Knot, herself already winner of a Racing League nursery from Eminny (who finished fourth to Zoulu Chief here).
Zoulu Chief went with enthusiasm and quickened clear before the final 1f and was eased near the line. He is trained by Heather Main and owned by Llewelyn, Runeckles And Wetumpka Racing.
The level of form Zoulu Chief showed here – a Timeform Rating of 96 – more than entitles him to a place back in Stakes company.
By Tweenhills stallion Zoustar, Zoulu Chief is out of Helmet mare Courteous Crown. He was bred by Wayne Clifford, sold as a foal for 22,000gns by Byerley Stud to Whatton Manor Stud, who sold him as a yearling for 27,000gns to Heather Main. Congratulations to all involved!
