Impressive Zoustar winner was born at Tweenhills
David and Fiona Howden saw their second homebred 2yo winner at Chelmsford on Tuesday when Zoustar colt Zu Run built on his debut to win well. Zu Run was born and raised at Tweenhills.
Zu Run had caught the eye at Salisbury on debut and, switched to the all-weather and upped to 7f, he was always travelling best in the hands of David Probert and scored by 2 and a half lengths from a very promising newcomer.
He’s trained by Andrew Balding, who also saddled his half-sister Nymphadora to win a 2yo Listed race last year.
Zu Run is out of Pivotal mare Bewitchment, who was bought by Tweenhills for 150,000gns at the 2018 Tattersalls December Mare Sale. She remains at Tweenhills and is part-owned by David Howden, David Redvers and Widden Stud.
Bewitchment also has a yearling colt by Zoustar, a filly foal by Kameko and is back in foal to Kameko.
Zu Run already held an entry in the Listed Two Year Old Trophy at Redcar on Oct 1 but many options are open for him now. With Zu Run, Running Lion and Run Simba, The Howdens have some very exciting 2yos to enjoy.
