Individual winner #29 for Charm Spirit

Charm Spirit took his tally of individual winners from his first crop to 29 on Wednesday when Zaahir won in France.

Carrying the yellow and blue stripes of Madame Odette Fau, Zaahir came from last to first to comfortably win a conditions event over 1700m on the all-weather at Pornichet for trainer Jean-François Doucet and jockey Adrien Fouassier.

Zaahir is out of Rail Link mare Ampersand and was bred by Scea du Haras de Victot. Until November, Zaahir actually carried the 'Charm Spirit' spotted and striped colours of H H Sheikh Abdulla Bin Khalifa Al Thani and was trained by Freddy Head.

On his previous start before his victory, Zaahir had run in a Deauville maiden won by Havana Gold filly Blanche Doree (who has won again since).

Charm Spirit’s winners so far include those out of a mares by Arch (x2), Sadler’s Wells (x2), Camacho, Daylami, Giant’s Causeway, Gone West, Mark of Esteem, Marju, Pivotal, Polish Precedent, Raven’s Pass, Royal Applause, Teofilo and Zafonic.
