Individual winner number 26 for Charm Spirit
Charm Spirit registered his 26th individual winner from his first crop of two-year-olds when The Big Smoke won a maiden at Lyon La Soie on Thursday.
The Big Smoke had shown ability on his two previous starts, finishing third at Clairefontaine, and he appreciated the step up to 1800m when winning on the All Weather.
He raced in fourth of the 15-runner field until around halfway when Christophe Soumillon decided to move to the front. He rounded the final bend with a couple of lengths in hand and ultimately won very comfortably.
The Big Smoke is trained by Carlos and Yann Lerner at Maison Lafitte and owned by Ecurie Haras du Cadran, SAS I.E.I., Adrian Von Gunter and Mme Claudia Berke.
He was bred by Ecurie Haras du Cadran, Adrian Von Gunten, SAS I.E.I. and Chantilly Bloodstock Agency. He's out of the Fasliyev mare Trip To The Moon, which makes him a half-brother to Gr. 2-placed Trois Lunes, dam of Gr. 3 winner and Gr. 1-placed miler Trais Flours.
