Kameko foals make six-figure sums at Tattersalls
Four colts from the first crop of foals by Kameko sold for 90,000gns or more at the Tattersalls December Foal Sale, including a pair who fetched 145,000gns and 100,000gns.
Three of the aforementioned quartet were consigned by Tweenhills, including the January-born bay colt by Stakes sprinter Golden Spell (by Al Kazeem) who was knocked down to Good Will Bloodstock for 145,000gns.
The Kameko colt out of Dansili mare Bella Nouf is a half-brother to Gr.3 winner Majestic Glory and this season's dual-winning 2yo Running Lion. The March-born bay was bought from the Tweenhills consignment by David Howden for 100,000gns.
The 92,000-guinea colt was a January-born chesnut consigned by Plantation Stud. He is out of winning Frankel mare Like, who is herself out of French Gr.3 winner What A Name. The colt was purchased by Roger Marley.
Tweenhills consigned Kameko’s 90,000-guineas colt out of Invincible Spirit mare Beach Belle, a Listed-winning 2yo who was fourth in the Gr.1 Phoenix Stakes. The bay was born in April and purchased by Aughamore Stud / Howson & Houldsworth Bloodstock.
Other foals who sold for more than twice Kameko’s opening stud fee were a colt out Galileo mare Terrify offered by Tweenhills and bought by JC Bloodstock; a colt out of Nathaniel mare Lightening Dance offered by Mickley Stud and bought by Ballyphilip Stud; and a colt out of Nayef mare Hamsat Elqamar offered by Natton House Thoroughbreds and bought by GHS Bloodstock.
