Kameko winner Wimbledon looks ace
Tweenhills stallion Kameko sired his first winner when Wimbledon Hawkeye, a homebred for The Gredley Family, made a successful debut in a 7f novice at Kempton on Wednesday evening.
Kameko colt Wimbledon Hawkeye overcame significant greenness to make a cosy winning debut at the Sunbury track from the Gosden-trained Ingot.
Wimbledon Hawkeye was given an excellent introductory ride by Callum Shepherd and became a third winner in 24 hours for Newmarket handler James Owen.
Wimbledon Hawkeye looks open to lots of improvement. Congratulations to his owner-breeders The Gredley Family who sent 1m-10f winner Eva Maria (by Sea The Stars) to Kameko in his first season as a stallion. She’s a half-sister to the owner’s high-class performer up to 7f James Garfield.
Eva Maria - who didn't even make her debut until the July of her 3yo year - ended up Timeform-rated 100 and her first foal Wimbledon Hawkeye has the potential to follow suit.
