Kameko's Gr.1 winner New Century offered at Tattersalls Autumn HIT Sale

The Gr.1 winner New Century will be sold by Qatar Racing at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sale (Monday 27 October – Friday 31 October). The three-year-old Kameko colt will be consigned by Jamie Railton Sales Agency as Lot 627 selling on Tuesday. Two lots before will be Gladius, also consigned by Jamie Railton on behalf of Qatar Racing, China Horse Club and David Howden.

New Century won three races as a two-year-old in 2024, including the Listed Stonehenge Stakes at Salisbury (beat subsequent Gr.2 winner Luther) and Gr.1 Summer Stakes at Woodbine. In Canada he defeated Al Qudra, who won a Gr.2 thereafter. New Century was also fourth in the Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf to Henri Matisse, subsequent winner of the Gr.1 Poule d’Essai des Poulains and this week retired to stand a Coolmore in 2026.

New Century was beaten less than 2 lengths in both the Gr.1 American Turf Stakes and Gr.1 Belmont Derby Invitational Stakes in the United States this summer, and beaten three lengths in the Gr.1 Saratoga Derby Invitational Stakes in August. He is one of the most decorated horses selling at Tattersalls next week.

Gladius, selling as Lot 625, has come a very long way in his debut season and promises to become a Gr.1 performer in his own right. The three-year-old Night of Thunder colt has won three of his six starts and hit the frame in the Gr.3 Strensall Stakes at York in August and Gr.3 Darley Stakes at Newmarket in October. Gladius showed both high class ability and an excellent attitude when close behind Damysus last time.

New Century and Gladius will both be in very high demand at Tattersalls.

Also being sold by Qatar Racing through Jamie Railton are Hit Squad, who has finished runner-up at Kempton on both starts including on Wednesday, winners Gunship and Wolfpack, and Frankel colt Scotland.
