Mare sells in foal to Zoustar for A$1.55m

Sire sensation Zoustar registered yet another significant result when dual Group 1 winner Global Glamour sold for A$1.55m in foal to the stallion at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Broodmare Sale.

She was purchased by Tom Magnier of Coolmore Stud Australia.

Global Glamour was bought by her original owners for A$65,000 as a yearling and won A$1,561,400 on track. Her five victories included the Sydney Airport Flight takes at Randwick and Schweppes Thousand Guineas at Caulfield, as well as two Group 2s.

Global Glamour's trainer Gai Waterhouse said: "Global Glamour has provided us all with so much joy and it’ll be sad to say goodbye but she’ll make a lovely mum in the next chapter of her life."

Global Glamour was consigned by our friends at Widden Stud. She is by Australian Group 1-winning sprinter Star Witness, who also finished placed in both the King's Stand and Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot 2011.

Star Witness is by New Zealand-bred Starcraft who won multiple Group 1s between Australia and Europe. His popular owner Paul Makin died this week aged 82.

Mares in foal to superstar Zoustar averaged $600,000 at the Broodmare Sale. Other prices included A$900,000, A$750,000, A$640,000 etc. and buyers included Yulong Investments, Kia-Ora, Belmont Bloodstock etc.
